Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry

That was, by far, the worst thing I have ever had to go through in my life. Surprisingly Nick was more upset than I was while we were there, but I've been crying all week, but you know, he's a man.

Everybody came in to talk to us, and all the vets and techs came in to say goodbye. Dr. Sonya started crying. They all said it was losing a member of their own family.

Since I have never euthanized an animal, I didn't know what to expect, but I stayed with her until the very end, and even after her heartbeat stopped, I still stayed in the room with her for a while. It was actually quite difficult to leave the room afterwards.

Regardless, Miss Bailey Sue, you were the best dog that any parents could ask for, and we are going to miss you like crazy. We came home, cracked open some beers, and talked about all the crazy stuff she would do. Nick's out having a smoke, so I thought I would hop on here really quick.

RIP Miss Bailey Sue. You're going to have lots of doggies to greet you at the Rainbow Bridge. And all the squirrels and rabbits better watch their backs.

Thanks, Malaka. It's so easy to be a great mommy to our furry friends when they smother you with unconditional love. xoxo

Rest In Peace Bailey Sue, I feel like I knew you from all the loving posts your mommy wrote about you. You were a lucky girl, and your human parents will see you again at the Rainbow Bridge (that poem always makes me SOB!)

HUGSHUGSHUGS...

We were extremely lucky to have her in our lives for so long. And that poem has been extremely comforting. Thanks for the hugs. I certainly need them.

Ugh.. here i am in tears again.

RIP Bailey Sue.

You did a very unselfish thing for her, and I hope she's playing with Barney right now.

Lynn, thank you for your kind thoughts. And I take comfort in knowing that she is/was going to have all sorts of friends to meet her, Barney included.

Thank you for being such a great friend through all of this. I remember clearly what you went through with Barney, and I know, with time, that the pain will lessen. xoxo

THe pain lessens yes. I still have Barney's photo on my fridge and I see it everyday.

SOmedays i'm still heartbroken over it , some days i still shed a tear over it.

I"ve had many dogs in my life but that one was MY first real dog, i picked him, i brought him home, i trained him.

I also said i'd never get another dog and now I have two crazy-ass poodles who drive me crazy on a daily basis.
I love 'em:)

Thanks, Lynn. That's comforting to hear. I'm still crying today, but the pain is a bit less.

I'm sure we'll get a dog again some day. There's a lot of homeless pets out there that need loving. But we're not in a hurry. :)

We still have two kitty cats at home so at least we're not completely alone.

Thanks again for all your comforting words. It means the world to me. xoxo
